The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Teacher/ Team Leader to join our dedicated MLC Kindle team.
In this leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality, developmentally and culturally responsive programs for children aged from birth to 5 years, while fostering strong partnerships with families, staff, and the wider College community.
This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on teaching with educational leadership, guiding a collaborative team to maintain exemplary standards in early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of engaging play-based programs in line with the Reggio Emilia educational approach, the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, and National Quality Standards.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, mentoring, and professional support to ELC educators.
  • Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Oversee program documentation, developmental assessments, and reporting to families.
  • Manage program budgets, resources, and equipment.
  • Contribute to MLC Kindle’s continuous improvement and Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Model and uphold MLC’s Child Safe Standards in all interactions.

About You

You will be a committed early childhood professional and inspiring leader, ready to bring creativity, empathy, and expertise to our vibrant learning community.

  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in an early childhood setting.
  • In-depth understanding of early childhood development and the Reggio Emilia educational approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to collaborative teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of the Victorian Child Safe Standards.
