DESCRIPTION:

The Role
St Nicholas Early Education supports and partners with families to nurture and inspire children as they develop the skills to flourish at home, in care and in communities.
In co-operation with the Educational Leader, The Early Childhood Teacher will be responsible for the development and evolution of the curriculum and progress of the designated room.
You will be part of a unique team environment, with a network of support across services as well as comprehensive wellbeing programs. As an Early Childhood Teacher you will have access to leadership and support on emerging trends impacting the sector through our specialised Pedagogy and Quality Assurance teams.
These opportunities will be offered on a permanent full-time basis across our services in the Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter regions. Candidates who hold an approved Diploma level qualification in Children’s Services and currently studying towards obtaining their teaching degree will be considered as (working towards) if they have a suitable amount of experience.

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to share information with parent’s daily
  • Effective implementation of the ELYF curriculum suitable to the needs and interests of children in care
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and support co-workers in their professional development
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing needs of children, monitoring their progress and ensuring school reading when applicable
  • Excellent organizational skills and concise record management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Early Childhood Teaching as recognised by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Authority (mandatory), OR an approved Diploma level qualification in Children’s Services as identified by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (candidates currently studying towards obtaining their teaching degree will be considered if they have a suitable amount of experience).
  • NSW accredited Teacher
  • Child protection qualification
  • Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training
  • Working with Children Check verification number
