The Pittsfield Public Schools seeks a dynamic and highly organized Early College Coordinator. The Early College Coordinator will play a pivotal role in fostering a strong partnership between Pittsfield HS and Berkshire Community College (BCC), serving as a liaison to connect Pittsfield High School students with the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school. This position will focus on student and parent engagement, information sessions, admissions and scheduling assistance, and collaboration with BCC staff to reach underrepresented and underserved students. Additionally, the coordinator will provide referrals to community resources and support services.Salary: Commensurate with experience; competitive benefits package includesPosition Type: Full-Time, 12-Month AssignmentKey responsibilities include: Student and Parent Engagement: oDevelop and implement strategies to engage students and parents from Pittsfield High Schools about the Early College Program.oConduct information sessions and workshops to provide comprehensive information about the program, admissions process, and academic opportunities.oFoster a supportive and inclusive environment for students and their families.Admissions and Scheduling Assistance: oAssist students with the application process, including completing necessary forms and meeting deadlines.oCoordinate with BCC admissions staff to ensure a smooth transition for students into the Early College Program.oAssist in scheduling classes and advising students on course selection.Collaboration with BCC Staff: oWork closely with BCC faculty and staff to develop and implement effective Early College Program initiatives.oIdentify and address any challenges or barriers that may hinder student success.oPromote a positive and collaborative relationship between Pittsfield High School and BCC.Community Resource Referrals: oProvide students and families with information about community resources and support services, such as tutoring, counseling, and financial aid.oConnect students with appropriate organizations to address their individual needs.Data Collection and Analysis: oTrack student progress and outcomes to assess the effectiveness of the Early College Program.oAnalyze data to identify areas for improvement and inform program development
