```html EARLY ELEMENTARY TEACHER POSITION SUMMARY The Early Elementary Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment for young students in the early elementary grades. This teacher provides foundational instruction in core academic subjects while supporting the social, emotional, and spiritual development of each child. Rooted in the Catholic liberal arts tradition, the Early Elementary Teacher fosters wonder, curiosity, and a love of learning while forming students in virtue and guiding them toward truth, goodness, and beauty. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES MISSION & CATHOLIC IDENTITY * Support and uphold the mission of McDonell Area Catholic Schools and the values of Catholic education. * Integrate faith into daily instruction and classroom life in age-appropriate ways. * Model Christian virtue, respect, and care for each student. * Participate in school prayer, liturgies, and faith-based activities. INSTRUCTION & CURRICULUM * Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons in reading, writing, mathematics, and other core subjects. * Foster early literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills through engaging and interactive instruction. * Incorporate elements of Catholic liberal arts education, including storytelling, discussion, and exposure to quality literature. * Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed. CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT & STUDENT DEVELOPMENT * Establish clear routines and expectations that support a safe, orderly, and joyful classroom environment. * Promote positive behavior, cooperation, and respect among students. * Support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth. * Monitor student progress and communicate concerns or successes to families in a timely manner. COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION * Partner with parents as primary educators through regular communication, conferences, and updates. * Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to meet student needs. * Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school initiatives. * Contribute to the broader school community through school events and activities as appropriate. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, and attendance. * Uphold school policies, diocesan guidelines, and professional standards. * Engage in ongoing professional growth aligned with Catholic liberal arts education. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field required. * Valid Wisconsin DPI teaching license (or ability to obtain licensure). * Experience working with early elementary students preferred. * Strong understanding of early childhood and elementary instructional practices. * Familiarity with or openness to Catholic liberal arts philosophy and pedagogy. * Practicing Catholic preferred, with commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
