QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required Education: Home based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework as part of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferred Education: AA degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Social Services, or related field plus experience in infant toddler care or home visitation.
  • Early Head Start/ Head Start Experience
  • Ability to pass State and/or Federal Background Checks as determined by position (prior to hire date).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Must demonstrate recognition and compassion for low-income peoples.
  • Must be aware and sensitive to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Demonstrated ability to input, aggregate and analyze data including generation of accurate and complete reports.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in preparing and processing documentation following relevant process and guidelines (such purchase requests, requests for payment, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES- INCLUDED BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Reports to and accepts assignments from the Home Based Site Supervisor and/or Child Development Manager.
  • Conduct home visits to facilitate the delivery of all Early Head Start component areas.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct Parent Child Activity Days (socializations) and trainings for children and families including activities that are individualized, culturally responsive, and include input from parents during home visits.
  • Works collaboratively with other site team members to maintain a safe, clean, healthy, and professional work environment.
  • Ensure the compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, federal and state regulations as they apply to home visitation.
  • Develop and ensure implementation of KCR ELFS Written Curriculum plan including use of approved, developmentally and appropriate curriculum with fidelity.
  • Maintain record keeping and reporting systems to ensure accurate information, with timely completion and follow up. Daily web based data entry.
  • In collaboration with parents, administer developmental screenings, maintain on-going assessment systems, participates in Individualized Goal planning including and special needs IFSP meetings to ensure implementation of a developmentally appropriate individualized learning experience for every child.
  • Ensure regular communication with families regarding screenings, assessments, and surveys in order to provide needed information for child development, health, or family service delivery.
  • In collaboration with parents, develop and implement Transition Plans, for children age 2.5, from Early Head Start to Head Start or another community program to ensure a smooth transition by the child’s third birthday.
  • Partner with families on your caseload to identify child and family needs and appropriate ways of meeting those needs through family goals and referrals.
  • Work with families to set and achieve family goals and plan for the future.
  • Work with families to ensure child health/dental are up to date and maintain tracking of child Health Services.
