Job Details Position Type: Full Time Education Level: Child Development Associate (CDA) Salary Range: $22.00 Hourly Job Shift: Day POSITION ABSTRACT The Early Head Start (EHS) Lead Child Care Partnership Program Specialist is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and oversight to Early Head Start child care partners, including infant/toddler classrooms, centers, and family child care homes. This position ensures that high-quality early childhood education, family engagement, and regulatory compliance are achieved across assigned sites. The Lead Specialist plays a dual role of supporting and mentoring teachers/providers, while also assisting families in meeting their goals through parent education, participation activities, and access to resources. This position requires flexibility, as caseloads and/or center assignments may be reassigned based on program needs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide ongoing training, coaching, and technical assistance to teachers and family child care providers to strengthen classroom practices and program quality. Support staff in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment tools that promote positive outcomes for infants and toddlers. Mentor colleagues and model effective teaching and family engagement strategies. Monitor child attendance and classroom/home records to ensure accuracy and compliance with HSPPS, state licensing, and SCF policies. Conduct site visits and quality assurance checks to ensure health, safety, and learning standards are consistently met. Assist with corrective action planning when needed to maintain full compliance. Conduct parent education sessions and facilitate opportunities for family participation. Collaborate with families to establish goals, connect them to resources, and strengthen their engagement in their child’s development. Support transition activities, ensuring smooth enrollment, movement between classrooms, or transition to preschool or another early childhood development program. Lead and support fellow CCPPS staff by sharing expertise, modeling best practices, and contributing to team development. Actively participate in staff meetings, family partnership activities, and community engagement events. Foster culturally responsive, inclusive environments that respect the unique needs of families and providers. Partner with the Education, Health, and Family Services teams to coordinate comprehensive services for children and families. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS Physically able to lift, move, and carry objects up to 50 pounds, as well as to bend, kneel, crouch, and sit on the floor or in preschool chairs to interact with infants and/or toddlers. Ability to communicate effectively and exchange information in face-to-face conversation, virtual meeting spaces, or via telephone. Driving a personal or company vehicle and traveling to multiple locations, including overnight travel. Willingness to tolerate exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases, as well as moderate to loud noise levels. Understanding that unexpected situations may occur, such as dealing with individuals who are experiencing domestic violence, anger, frustration, or mental illness. The working environment includes childcare centers, office environments and Family Child Care home settings. Qualifications POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 21 years old, have held a driver's license for at least 3 years, and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Required High school graduate or equivalent Associate degree in early childhood or related field, also willing to consider Child Development Credential depending on years of experience. A minimum of 3 years of experience with infants/toddlers in early childhood education, preferably with infants/toddlers, family child care, or Head Start/Early Head Start. Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), child development principles, and state licensing regulations. Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building abilities. Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to maintain accurate written documents and records and comprehend moderately complex information. Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English, with a keen eye for detail and proper grammar. Demonstrated proficiency in using basic Microsoft Office functions and internet applications. Display patience and tact when interacting with children, families, and other staff. Strong time management skills, organizational abilities, and a high degree of attention to detail. Familiar with child growth and development, appropriate practices, and adhering to Head Start and Early Head Start Performance Standards. Flexibility to work a varied schedule and interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Project professionalism through appearance, interactions, and conduct. Ability to execute assigned tasks independently, identify areas of opportunity, and suggest possible solutions while maintaining areas of strength. REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO HIRE AND ONGOING Before and throughout employment, certain prerequisites must be met. These include undergoing a physical examination, maintaining negative TB results, and completing pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing. In addition, candidates must obtain Live Scan Fingerprints for Child Care and maintain a valid driver's license during their tenure with SCF.
