What You’ll Do: The primary responsibility of a Kentucky Early Intervention System (KEIS; formerly “First Steps”) provider is to evaluate and provide treatment for pediatric patients between the ages of birth and three years with needs in the areas of physical, social-emotional, self-help, communication, and cognitive development. KEIS Providers at APT, while working primarily in children’s natural environments (homes, daycares, community centers, etc.) also have the opportunity to work in other APT offices and contract locations, depending on the counties/areas served. PTs, OTs, SLPs, and Developmental Interventionists interested in any of these settings can apply for this position. KEIS Provider Essential Duties and Responsibilities (all disciplines): Work closely with patients’ caregivers and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) through a Coaching Model. Maintains professional/technical competencies and proficiencies for job responsibilities and upholds federal/state licensure and ethical expectations. KEIS Developmental Interventionist Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements: Evaluate and treat children from birth to age 3 for cognitive and social interaction skills to achieve highest level of functioning and to prevent regression. Our ideal candidate holds a bachelors degree and an interdisciplinary early childhood education (IECE) certificate, a probationary or emergency IECE certificate, or a valid statement of eligibility for IECE certification issued by the Kentucky Educational Professional Standards Board, Division of Certification.
