Salary: Currently $49,638.36-$92,138.12 (DOE), still being negotiated for 2025-2026.
Insurance: Generous Health, dental, and vision contribution from the district, currently up to $2202 (based upon family coverage), TBD for 2025-2026.
PERS Retirement: The district assumes and pays the 6% average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system.

JOB SUMMARY:

Klamath Early Childhood Development Center (KECDC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our team. This position is responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs that provide a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. The goal is to support children’s growth across all domains, including cognitive, social-emotional, language and communication, literacy, and physical development.
The teacher works closely with families and other agencies serving the child, participates in eligibility evaluations, provides service coordination for Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs), and functions as a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team. The role may also include providing guidance and functional supervision to teacher aides or assistants.
All teachers are expected to be familiar with and uphold the “Competent Educator Standards” as outlined in Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR 584-020-0010).

  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, special education or a related field. Those without a TSPC endorsement in EI/ECSE or a related field must possess or have the ability to possess the Early Childhood Specialist authorization within 12 months of employment.
  • Works well with others from diverse backgrounds and demonstrates ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Focuses on solving conflict; maintaining confidentiality; listening to others without interrupting; keeping emotions under control; remaining open to others’ ideas and contributing to building a positive team spirit.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work with children, families, staff and the public.
  • Ability to communicate fluently verbally and in writing in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond effectively to questions in one-on-one, small group situations to students and other school staff.
  • Ability to verbally respond to common inquiries from children and families.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
  • General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use database software, e-mail, internet software, spreadsheets, and word processing software (Google Docs, Forms, Calendar, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and work in an environment with constant interruptions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Hold a valid Oregon Driver’s License.
  • Obtain registration through the Central Background Registry (CBR) and maintain registration.
  • Ability to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card.
