As a Civil/Materials Engineer in Training in our Calgary office, you’ll help shape the infrastructure that Alberta relies on every day. From construction sites to geotechnical investigations, you’ll gain hands‑on experience that accelerates your career while contributing to projects that support safe, sustainable, and resilient communities. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your Impact • Support civil, materials, and geotechnical engineering activities on a diverse range of projects—from early studies to construction execution. • Conduct fieldwork including excavations, subgrade inspections, shallow foundation reviews, and pile monitoring for concrete and steel systems. • Participate in geotechnical drilling, soil logging, and sampling programs. • Collaborate with project managers and technical leads on site investigations across Alberta and occasionally across Canada. • Prepare field documentation and contribute to geotechnical reports, proposals, and technical summaries. • Travel to project sites and engage directly with contractors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality and safety.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Skills That Set You Apart • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 6 months to 2 years of relevant co‑op, field, or consulting experience. • Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) with APEGA. • A passion for fieldwork—comfortable travelling, working outdoors, and navigating rugged terrain. • Strong safety mindset and ability to perform physically demanding tasks as required in field environments. • Valid unrestricted Class 5 driver’s license and good driving record. • Ability to work in both laboratory and office settings and prioritize multiple tasks in fast‑moving project environments.  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why Choose WSP?
