THE OPPORTUNITY

WSP is currently seeking an early career as a Scheduler, to join our Project Services department, located at our Calgary, Alberta office. Reporting to the Project Controls Team lead, this position will be a support to the project manager in area of planning, scheduling, management of changes, project monitoring and project controls reporting. Specialized in planning and scheduling, the early career professional scheduler main role will be supporting the project controls lead establishing a Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and monitor the progress during the execution phase of the project. The successful candidate will also be required to support the generation of initial schedule based on the work awarded, develop detailed schedule and create schedule impacts scenarios (before and after), maintain baselines, provide inputs to schedule variance analysis as well as support the business development team with scheduling needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of project schedules using industry-standard scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information required for schedule creation and updates.
  • Support the preparation and analysis of project progress reports, identifying potential delays or risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in regular project meetings, contributing scheduling expertise and maintaining accurate records of schedule changes and decisions.
  • Assist with resource loading, cost integration, and critical path analysis to optimize project delivery timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with WSP’s project control standards, as well as client and regulatory requirements.
  • Help facilitate communication between different disciplines and teams, ensuring coordination and awareness of major project milestones.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of scheduling processes and tools within the company.
