Early Years Teacher and Primary Teacher
(1.0 FTE) Full-time, Ongoing | Commencing 1 January 2027 | St Marcellin Catholic College, Madora Bay WA
About the role
St Marcellin Catholic College is seeking two full-time, ongoing (1.0 FTE) teachers, commencing 1 January 2027, to join our new College in its third year of operation: one Early Years Teacher and one Primary Teacher.
Our Junior School teachers commit to building community as a priority and personally model our motto, Strong Minds and Gentle Hearts. As voracious learners themselves, they design collaborative, authentic learning experiences for our students.
We are looking for educators with compassion, humility, patience, agility and outstanding communication skills. Pastorally, our teachers are committed to restorative practice, where correction is just, kind and forgiving. You will have a demonstrated capacity to support students in achieving both their academic and social-emotional goals.
In the Early Years, teachers will be pedagogically aligned with the Reggio Emilia approach. Beyond the Early Years, teachers will be confident in inquiry-based pedagogy. Across the Junior School, we expect a strong commitment to teaching core skills in line with the EYLF, Kindergarten Guidelines and SCSA Western Australian Curriculum.
Key responsibilities
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to the College Vision and Values underpinning the delivery of a Catholic education to students in our College community
• Actively promote the charism of Saint Marcellin Champagnat and the mission and life of the Catholic Church within the College
• Uphold the value and dignity of each person in relationships with staff, parents and students
• Design and implement teaching strategies that respond to the learning strengths and needs of our students
• Ensure planning and assessment meet the mandated requirements of the EYLF, Kindergarten Guidelines, SCSA Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment, and the WA Religious Education Curriculum
• Develop differentiated teaching activities that meet the learning needs of students across the full range of abilities
• Design creative, purposeful, child-centred learning programs that ignite a love of learning and allow students to achieve their personal best
• Maintain comprehensive, ongoing assessment records to inform future learning
• Establish and maintain respectful, collaborative relationships with parents and carers regarding their children's learning and wellbeing
