The post holder will be an enthusiastic and motivated clinical operational manager who will join our Health Visiting Leadership Team within Public Health Nursing. This will be a permanent position within the public health nursing team. Specialist knowledge, skills and experience will be necessary to promote strong, compassionate leadership and clinical governance ensuring the provision of quality services in the borough enabling all children to have the best start in life.
The role will support, enthuse and inspire the multi skilled Health Visiting Service in ABUHB to ensure well being, quality improvement and delivery of the service to meet the Welsh Government’s public health agenda and support the full implementation of the Healthy Child Wales Programme (HCWP) and Early Years Agenda.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
The post holder will support the Public Health Nursing Service, health visiting team in the modernisation and redesign, development and delivery of Health Visiting across Aneurin Bevan Health Board, responding to Welsh Government National Agenda.
The post holder will provide leadership for the team within health visiting teams, ensuring the staff feel valued and are facilitated to maintain their personal and professional development, through a process of PADR and Clinical Supervision and compliance with the ABUHB Valuesand Behaviours Framework.
The post holder will have overarching responsibility for the management of safeguarding children and their families ensuring the health visiting
team are meeting their statutory requirements as set down in the Welsh Government’s “Wales Safeguarding Procedures”.

To support and facilitate the provision of effective, efficient and appropriate high quality Early Years health services to the area
population.
To lead a team within Health Visiting, ensuring the staff feel valued and are facilitated to maintain their personal and professional

Contribute to Health Board wide and local service developments linked to health visiting and School Health Nursing and the Family
and Therapy Division.
Operational management of Health Visitors and health visiting team members through strong leadership and transformational
management.
To promote evidence-based practices and act as a role model.
To develop and implement policies and procedures as appropriate in line with national and local guidelines and recommendations which would impact across Health Visiting Services Pan-Gwent.
To facilitate any change process in partnership with practitioners.
Provide health visiting leadership and operational management both directly and indirectly for the health visiting teams and give clear guidance and support to the teams to enable effective management and leadership of the service.
The post holder will have responsibility for the Clinical and Risk Governance Reporting for health visiting services in the borough.
