OPERATIONAL

  • Be a reliable member of the team, working co-operatively and with flexibility.
  • To provide a happy, safe, secure, stimulating and attractive environment in which the children in the room can thrive and parents can feel reassured they are safe and secure.
  • To work in partnership with parents, encouraging them to participate in their child’s progress and development.
  • To observe their key children’s progress and report on their achievements, looking for progression and continuity.
  • To assist in planning and organising activities and opportunities - suitable for the age range of the children - that inspire and extend children’s learning and encourage independence in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • To ensure that continuous provision and free flow play occurs at all times and meets the children’s individual needs.
  • To be alert to issues of Safeguarding/Child Protection ensuring that the welfare of all the children attending Acorns Early Years Centre is promoted and safeguarded and to report any Child Protection concerns to Acorns Early Years Centre’s Child Protection Officer.
  • Following Acorns Early Years Centre’s procedures for the positive management of children’s behaviour.
  • To attend Parents Evenings, be involved in fundraising events and assist with the promotion of Acorns Early Years Centre as required.
