OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Level 3 qualified early years practitioner with a passion for working with children. Your warmth, patience, and creativity will help us continue to make a difference in young lives!
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will be at the heart of the Pre-School, providing a secure, caring and fun environment, where our children can grow, learn and thrive.
The Early Years SENCO has a key role in supporting colleagues and coordinating the response of the setting to children with SEN.
Experience working as an early years SENCO would be preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or Childcare are essential.
  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and fostering their development.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in early years education is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Creating a safe space: Help maintain a welcoming and safe environment that encourages children to explore and learn confidently.

As an Early years SENCO you will:

  • Ensure all practitioners in the setting understand their responsibilities to children with SEN and the setting’s approach to identifying and meeting SEN.
  • Advice and support colleagues.
  • Ensure parents are closely involved throughout and that their insights inform action taken by the setting.
  • Liaise with professionals or agencies beyond the setting.
