Standby Education is ready to stand by you in your next career step! We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teacher to join a good-rated school in Derby. This full-time position will primarily focus on Reception and is a long-term role running until the end of the 2025/2026 academic year, with the possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.
About the Role

As an Early Years Teacher in Reception, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of high-quality lessons in line with the EYFS curriculum
  • Develop engaging, age-appropriate activities that stimulate children’s learning
  • Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development
  • Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment where all children feel safe and valued
  • Assess children’s progress and adapt teaching methods to meet their individual needs
  • Work closely with other staff and parents to ensure the best outcomes for each child
  • Support the school’s ethos and values while promoting inclusive education

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • QTS or QTLS qualification and experience teaching in Early Years (Reception)
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and its requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, creative, and adaptable approach to teaching
  • The ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and improving educational outcomes
