A warm and welcoming school in Workington is looking for a qualified Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. If you’re passionate about working with children and want to make a real difference during these vital early stages of development, this is a fantastic opportunity to build meaningful experience in a supportive, inclusive environment.
You’ll be working closely with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Your day will involve leading sensory circuits, supporting emotional regulation, implementing behaviour strategies, working 1:1 or in small groups, and helping children access learning through play. You’ll follow individual EHCPs to deliver personalised support and play a key role in both academic and social development.
The ideal person You must hold a recognised Teaching Assistant, EYFS or Childcare qualification (Level 2 or above). We are looking for someone who is calm, caring, and patient, with a genuine enthusiasm for helping young children thrive. Experience in a school, nursery or early years setting is highly beneficial, whether through placements or paid work. A positive attitude and willingness to support all pupils is key.
