Description Position Summary As an Earthwork Foreman at Lewis Environmental, you will play a crucial role in executing field assignments across our four primary service lines: Remediation, Waste Transportation, Industrial Maintenance, and Emergency Response. You will be responsible for the safe operation of mini-excavators (under 12,000 lbs.) and tracked or rubber-tired skid loaders. We seek a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team, ensuring the effective use of equipment and contributing to the success of our projects. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Work Planning & Execution: Review work plans and equipment requirements to ensure the smooth and efficient start and completion of projects. Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all operations are conducted in compliance with regulatory safety guidelines. Promote a culture of safety within the team. Equipment Management: Maximize the utilization of company-owned resources and equipment. Ensure proper use, maintenance, and reporting of all assigned equipment. Technical Expertise: Operate multi-manufactured equipment, including Bobcat, Case, Cat, and John Deere skid loaders and mini excavators, while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency. Quality Assurance: Maintain quality control and quality assurance to ensure safe operations and project completion in line with customer expectations. Documentation: Accurately complete all daily reports, including obtaining customer signatures on time and material sheets. Ongoing Training: Participate in continued professional development, including certifications in hazardous materials handling, field sampling, as well as other required specialties. Teamwork & Communication: Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure successful project execution and keep all teams informed of project needs and activities. Support & Leadership: Enforce company standards of conduct and assist with the implementation of company policies and disciplinary actions as needed. Contribute to maintaining open communication at monthly field employee meetings. Flexibility & Support: Assist in other secondary duties as required by management to support the company’s goals. Qualifications: Experience: 3-5 years of experience as an Earthwork Foreman or in a similar role within an environmental contracting company. Driving Record: Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and successful completion of a criminal background check. Licensing: Valid, unrestricted driver’s license. Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including being on call during weekends and after hours. Safety-Oriented: Strong commitment to safety, quality, honesty, integrity, and teamwork. Training: 40-hour OSHA and related safety training preferred. Training will be provided. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Ability to work in confined spaces and wear a respirator when required. Ability to stand and perform physical tasks (50-70% of the time). Ability to tolerate moderate noise levels in the work environment. Why Join Us?
