JOB SUMMARY

The Earthworks Foreman will be responsible for overseeing daily site operations assigned from the Project Manager, supervising equipment operators and labourers, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and according to project specifications. Must be willing to work extended hours on remote job sites, including weekends and variable shifts, as project demands dictate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate all aspects of earthworks activities (cut/fill, grading, trenching, backfilling, etc.)
• Manage crew productivity, work assignments, and site safety
• Interpret drawings, grade stakes, and survey layouts
• Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Engineers, and Safety Personnel
• Perform quality control checks and maintain daily reporting
• Promote and enforce OH&S regulations and company safety policies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities and project milestones
• Organize resources efficiently to maximize productivity and meet task deadlines
• Report any equipment maintenance needs promptly to the Shop Manager

Qualifications:

• Completed of High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of proven site supervisory experience is required, preferably in the construction industry.
• Valid Class 5 Driver License.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and safety protocols.
• Strong supervisory and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents.
• Familiarity of construction processes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Proficient in the use of construction equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage own workload.
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to maintain records and conduct administrative tasks efficiently
