As an EBI Developer II, you will support the organization’s enterprise database needs by developing, maintaining, and enhancing internal and customer-facing databases and applications. A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am—4:00pm or 9:00am—5:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Assist and support the overall database need of Cleveland Clinic.
  • Support the creation of various analytics and .NET applications through databases, such as MS SQL and Teradata.
  • Work in a team of database developers, software developers and business analysts to deliver database analytics and web-based applications.
  • Develop, maintain and enhance databases and applications for internal purposes and customer reporting.
  • Administer existing databases and the analysis, design and creation of new databases.
  • Perform data modeling, database optimization, understanding and implementation of schemas and the ability to interpret and write complex code.
  • Monitor systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints.
  • Design, implement and support ETL processes.
  • Establish database standards, documentation and best practices.
  • Meet minimum required years of experience in the full life cycle of designing and developing very large databases, datamarts and/or data warehouse applications using Cleveland Clinic standard development tools including current Microsoft development environments and relational database management systems such as Snowflake, Databricks, Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
  • Proficiency with the use of other database technologies, environments, data pipelines, and ETL tools. Examples include Informatica, Airflow, cloud environments (i.e. Azure, GCP, AWS), Python development, etc.
  • Proficiency with programming languages (i.e. Java, Python).
  • Proficiency with data science tools and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of data environments and experience building robust, scalable solutions including data warehouse architecture, big data, CI/CD pipelines, etc.
  • Provide requirements analysis and data modeling.
  • Design system workflow to meet business requirements.
  • Define and analyzes data requirements for database designs.
  • Develop all database objects and deploys new database applications utilizing the Cleveland Clinic development methodology and tools.
  • Map out, plans, and performs ongoing administration of database and datamart software including data loading, reconciliation, and analysis of data anomalies with business customers.
  • Provide new feature enhancements, education and training, monitoring and optimization, technical support, and database maintenance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain a multitude of relational database reports supporting executive dashboards, ongoing operations analysis, management decisions, process and quality improvement, and business partner negotiations.
  • Perform quality assurance role for complex and sensitive database application features developed by others including preparing and executing test plans, logging defects, and retesting corrected defects to validate feature integrity, accuracy, and completeness prior to customer deployment.
  • Work collaboratively and mentors junior team members to ensure all standards and best practices are met when designing new solutions.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field and 3 years of database development, C# or ASP.net experience
  • OR additional database development experience may substitute degree
  • Solid understanding of database and .NET computing environment concepts
  • Excellent knowledge of current technologies and project management skills
  • Diverse technology background required along with strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master’s degree
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) from Microsoft
  • Teradata Database Certified Associate (TDCA) from Teradata Certified Professional Program (TCPP)
  • Programming experience with an emphasis on coding that scales well and is optimized for use in a high volume environment
  • Experience in the physical and logical design of database architecture
  • Experience in Informatica Power Center
