Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Medical Data Systems, Inc. EBO (Extended Business Office) provides outsourcing services as a contracted vendor to hospitals throughout the United States. We perform patient collections, customer service and insurance follow-up on behalf of our client hospitals prior to the account moving to a primary collection agency. Our program is called “Early Out.”
The function of an EBO Inbound Agent is to work on behalf of our client hospitals to assist patients and collect patient balances before the account is sent to a collection agency. The EBO Inbound Agent provides exceptional service for inbound, and sometimes outbound, telephone calls using a script and system tools. All work is done via telephone accessing hospital databases as well as our proprietary software program.
Inbound Agents are fully trained on our hospital’s computer system, our system as well as given basic collection skills and tips during a 30-day training period.Collectors are then assigned to a team and monitored by our supervisory staff to ensure production and quality standards are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all applicable federal and state laws are followed at all times.
  • Constant focus on urgency and immediate resolution on all accounts.
  • Be able to use logic and training to evaluate accounts for possible problems.
  • Responsible for maintaining currency and accuracy of all hospital HOST passwords assigned.
  • Be able to work as a team player to enhance the recovery of assigned facilities.
  • Maintain calls per hour metric.
  • Be able to work a minimum of 150 accounts per day on an automated dialing system after 90 days.
  • Follow all office procedures to maintain integrity of company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Certificates / Registrations & Education: Completion of the FDCPA and HIPAA Standards examsHigh school diploma or general education degree requiredMust demonstrate proficiency in personal computers.
    EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of HIPAA, FDCPA & FCRA laws required.
    Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret instructional materials such as policy guides, rules and compliance manuals in addition to analysis of client performance and productivity reports. Ability to write routine reports and short correspondence and memos. Ability to present ideas and speak effectively in one-on-one and group settings
    Mathematical Skills:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as copays and deductibles.
    Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited information and facts are available
    Physical Demands: Ability to sit at an ergonomic desk for 8-hour shift, stand for long periods, sit, walk, wear a headset, use hands and fingers, talk, hear and see at close distance for duration of shift in an indoor, moderate noise level environment
