We are recruiting an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician to Join the Maintenance Department of Greenergy Biofuels based on the Immingham Docks. The EC&I Technician is responsible to a supervisor on a day-to-day basis and is required to carry out work appropriate to their core specialist skills. He or she is also required to undertake within their level of competency, work of other crafts, following suitable training.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • Time served apprenticeship with an HNC in a relevant discipline
  • Excellent technical knowledge of Allen Bradley & Siemens PLC’s, SCADA, Instrumentation and some Electrical Systems
  • Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience in a heavy process environment, e.g Power station, Steelworks, Chemical plants or Refinery.
  • Some experience managing 3rd Party Contractors, Planning and scoping works with the ability to complete small projects. Good understanding of Industrial networking.
  • Installing & maintaining electrical equipment to required processes & standards
  • Calibration of Various types of Instrumentation
  • Fault diagnosis & rectification
  • Working in & contributing to 24/7 operational environment
  • Plant SHE systems & procedures
  • Awareness of Allen Bradley PLC Systems and Intouch SCADA
  • The highest regard for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair faults in engineering installations, plant and equipment. To deal with new situations as they arise and pass on knowledge to others. Carry out repairs, maintain and efficiently run plant and equipment. Carry out Calibrations and Loop checking of Instrumentation relating to the sites Control System. Configuring and Programming the Sites PLC and SCADA Systems.
To participate in the sites, plant preventative maintenance systems. Carrying out both visual and stopped inspections as required, in line with pre planned outages and day to day planned work.
To interpret and work from verbal instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to engineering installations. To manufacture, assemble and install new work.
Will be required to participate in the on-call system as necessary to cover emergency breakdowns outside of normal working hours. Maybe required to work a rota system as required. To work additional hours as required to ensure the efficiency and integrity of the plant is maintained, including shutdowns.
To ensure work is completed alongside relevant legislative and approved codes of practice as per site standards. List not being exhaustive but relevant to trade skill set and safe working practices of the site such as DSEAR 2002.
With regards to Health and Safety ensure all site PPE is worn at all times. Observe all Greenergy policies on Health and Safety at all times. Ensure that Health and Safety regulations, Codes of Practice, safe working Procedures, method statements and risk assessments are complied with. Produce safe working procedures, method statements and risk assessments as required. Report any accidents or incidents and ensure that Accident Report Procedures are followed. Most of all, undertake all work in accordance with safe working practices and safe working procedures.
