Description The Denver Waldorf School (DWS) seeks a qualified candidate to join our faculty as an ECE Nursery Lead Teacher to begin in the 2026-27 school year. By working with the principles of Waldorf education, the Lead Nursery teacher serves as the primary teacher for their students ages 2½ to 4 years old. Knowledge of Waldorf educational philosophy is preferred. Essential Functions The essential responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, Waldorf-inspired early childhood curriculum. Establish daily, weekly, and seasonal classroom rhythms. Lead activities such as circle time, storytelling, puppet shows, artistic work, free play, and seasonal celebrations. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with classroom assistants. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents, including fall and spring conferences. Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development. Support admissions by meeting with prospective families when needed. Ensure compliance with Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) licensing regulations. Requirements Education Requirements/Certification Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university. Early Childhood Waldorf Teacher Training. Additional training required by CDHS. Experience teaching young children. Exceptional communications skills, ability to interact with parents. Desire to work in a collaborative environment. Working Hours The work schedule requires the employee to be at the school each day for the time necessary to accomplish instruction and responsibilities assigned thoroughly. At a minimum, full-time lead teacher faculty are expected to be available to the school Monday through Friday for the entire day, beginning at 8:00 am, including dismissal monitoring, after-school student support, and after-school meetings.
