Unisus Early Childhood Learning Centre is a group child care centre located on a beautiful 17 acre campus in Summerland, BC. Our Early Years Program is an integral first step for children aged 3-5 years who will be attending our International Baccalaureate School. At Unisus Early Years, we believe in learning through inquiry and play, with a large outdoor education emphasis. We believe that children are naturally resourceful, imaginative, intelligent, and inquisitive beings who thrive in a natural setting.
Our centre is growing and need to expand our team. We have current openings for Early Childhood Educators On Call for relief coverage during our school year and summer program. Successful applicants will be enthusiastic, flexible, dynamic, collaborative educators who are passionate about the outdoors and are looking to become part of an internationally minded, vibrant teaching and learning community.

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Educators License valid in BC (ECE preferred)
  • 1-3 years ECE teaching experience, minimum.
  • Valid First Aid Certification
  • Criminal Record Check Clearance
  • Knowledge of Early Years Framework and Reggio approach an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with students, staff parents, and the community.
  • Must be eligible for work in Canada. Visa sponsorship is not available

Responsibilities
  • Implementing a child-led inquiry based IB curriculum that will meet the child’s physical, intellectual, social, creative and emotional needs.
  • Maintain documentation of learning and progress of children’s learning for reporting purposes
  • Willing to provide and engage in learning opportunities for children both indoors and (in all weather) outdoors
  • Work collaboratively with all teaching and support staff
  • Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
  • Communicate and collaborate with parents, students, staff and administration to support student learning
  • Work in partnership to maintain safety, cleanliness and organization of classroom materials
