Get to Know Your Team: UT Health Quitman offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, swing bed care, cardiopulmonary rehab, on-site physician clinics, and a sleep lab. Responsibilities Performs ultrasound procedures for all ages by utilizing imaging modalities in order to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. Subject to overtime and call back as required by the hospital. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Eligible. Qualified second year student from an Allied Health Echocardiography program doing PRN work only and has been proctored and signed off by the Echo Coordinator. Knowledge and ability to operate equipment and perform ultrasound procedures. One year experience hands-on technical skills. Knowledge and use of all diagnostic ultrasound equipment. Ability to use equipment without direct supervision. Independent use of clinical knowledge and experience. Knowledge of safety use, handling and storage of advanced sterilization products. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Echo registered in RDCS or RCS within six (6) months of hire date. Preferred Job Requirements: Allied Health degree in performing Echocardiography studies.
Responsibilities
The Echo Tech performs ultrasound procedures for patients of all ages to assist in diagnosing and treating heart disease. The role may require overtime and call back as needed by the hospital.
