DEPARTMENT: Respiratory Therapy SHIFT: 12 Hour Shifts (24hrs. per week) POSITION SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, performs routine diagnostic cardiac ultrasounds examinations. Obtains necessary images, prepares a complete study summary for interpretation by the cardiologist in the diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of the heart and major vessels; Performs other related functions as required, which include but are not limited to maintenance of equipment, supplies, logs, and medical record documentation. Supports philosophies and complies with policies and procedures of the organization and the Respiratory Department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Performs all echocardiogram procedures, including, but not limited to: * Utilizes ultrasounds modalities of 2D, M-Mod, Strain, 3D Quantification, color flow, and Doppler Testing for visualization of all possible cardiac structures, prosthesis, and pertinent arterial and venous anatomy and flow of blood. * Exercise Stress Echocardiogram, Bubble Studies (Agitated Saline) * All other duties or responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education Required: * Completion of an accredited two-year ARDMS/ARDCS Cardiovascular sonographer program. * Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echocardiography Certification * BLS Certification Education Preferred: * N/A Minimum Experience Required: * Minimum (2) years in the last three years full-time equivalent experience in cardiac ultrasound. Experience Preferred: * N/A Skills: * Ability to perform detailed Cardiac Sonography * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality Bear Valley Community Healthcare District Is An Equal Opportunity Employer
