BRIEF SUMMARY: Under the direction of a Cardiologist and with considerable latitude for independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative, performs all of the professional duties involved in applying prescribed high frequency sound waves for ultrasonic diagnosis at the technical level. Assumes the responsibility for exams performed and clerical duties as applied to Cardiac Ultrasound Services.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Prepares and instructs patients for echocardiography. 2. Performs echocardiography, obtains necessary images. 3. Prepares reports for interpretation by the cardiologist. 4. Reviews medical record to identify any significant medical history which may impact the study. 5. Reviews echocardiogram data and may confer with appropriate medical personnel. 6. Maintains logs of all procedures. 7. Maintains supplies. 8. Performs echocardiograms procedures with minimum supervision. 9. Keeps informed of advances in echocardiography through reading current literature and continuing education. 10. Performs other related functions as required.   EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: 1.         Must maintain current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification. 2.         Graduate from an approved school in Echocardiology 3.         Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or            Registered Cardiac Sonographer     In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC) posts the pay range for all jobs.
