Echocardiographer – Full Time UPMC Williamsport Schedule Full-time, 8-hour shifts Shift start times vary between 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM Weekend rotation: Approximately every 6th weekend Holiday rotation: 1–2 holidays per year On-call rotation: Overnight call 3–4 times per month Sign on Bonus: $10,000 for qualified applicants. The Echocardiographer performs a wide range of diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures to support accurate evaluation and treatment of patients with heart conditions. This role requires technical expertise, strong attention to detail, and adherence to established protocols and timelines. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive echocardiographic examinations, including: Complete Echocardiograms Contrast/Enhancement (Definity) Studies Bubble Studies Stress Echocardiography Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) Conduct cardiac ultrasound procedures in accordance with Medical Director guidelines, established protocols, and required timeframes, including: M-Mode 2D Imaging Doppler and Color Flow Doppler Prepare studies for physician interpretation by: Pulling previous reports Documenting measurements and findings Presenting outpatient written orders Recording required information in log books Accurately enter patient demographics and exam data using: Modality worklists on echocardiography equipment Syngo and MUSE systems, as applicable Complete billing documentation for all echocardiographic procedures in the hospital’s eRecord system by the end of each shift. Maintain ultrasound equipment by: Cleaning and stocking machines daily Reporting equipment issues or supply needs to appropriate personnel Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI certification, or ability to obtain certification within one year (new graduates welcome). Ability to perform echocardiography procedures independently while maintaining quality and compliance standards. Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills. Completion of an accredited sonographer program with registration or registration eligibility. Ability to work flexible hours and days of the week to include weekends and holidays. Taking call as scheduled. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) preferred.
