The post holder will be responsible for setting supporting Advanced Echo Service including Stress Echo, Bubble/Contrast Studies and Transoesophageal echocardiograms and be able to:
Assist in the provision of specialist-nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers without supervision in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team in line with local and national targets.
The post holder will deputise for their line manager in the management of their clinical specialty. This will involve dealing with situations and having to take appropriate action in a variety of settings.
To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and to provide cover for any area specified acting as professional role model providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research.
Support the service by attending MDTs.
Triaging referrals into each pathway, co-ordinate relevant investigations and preparation for MDT discussion.
Co-ordinate and support the in-patient and out-patient pathways, liaising with specialist teams including cardiothoracic, anesthetic, interventional, HF, pulmonary hypertension and ICU amongst others
Maintain clinical databases to support workflow and audit, as well as research projects.
Level 1 echocardiogram training and accreditation.
In time the development of nurse led clinics for valve patients
