Description
Position Overview: Will have a caseload of 10 participants ages 14-18. Team Leaders will Facilitate groups, preferably Restorative Justice circles. Team Leaders will meet with participants 1:1 to go over program performance. Team Leaders will go over score cards with youth on a daily basis that address Attendance, Preparedness, Performance, Attitude, and Participation. Team Leaders will oversee a Work Team at Project sites. Team Leaders will work 10 hours per week including some weekdays and Saturdays. Team Leaders would oversee participants that are in the Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Summer stages of the program. Team Leaders will work in collaboration with the ECHOES Probation Officer. The goals of the program are to engage participants in transformational relationships that enable them to remain in their schools and communities while they improve the educational, employment, and social/emotional competencies needed to lead law-abiding lives. The purpose of the program is to reduce recidivism within the criminal justice system. Position Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED or HSE. Minimum 2-3 year experience working with at-risk youth. Demonstrate initiative and creativity, particularly with adolescents. Demonstrate knowledge of Evidence-based practice. Demonstrate experience in group work. Ability to work some weekdays and Saturdays. Demonstrate understanding of the issues of the local Manhattan (Harlem) community. Demonstrate understanding of the issues facing Black and Latino adolescents. Ability to work as a team member and independently Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with youth and staff. Demonstrate ability to effectively use a multi-cultural approach in working with special needs youth. Excellent oral communication skills. Demonstrate knowledge in juvenile justice system. Demonstrate knowledge in Anti-Gun violence. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
