Description:
Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
Support System (ECLSS). In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing, analyzing, and overseeing the development of the ECLSS.
You will also have the unique opportunity to influence the entire design process, from initial concept through software architecture, system integration, testing, and final validation of critical components and assemblies.

Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In your capacity as a ECLSS Architecture Senior Engineer, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:
- Lead the development of the ECLSS as the technical responsible
- Draft and manage technical requirements to ensure they meet overall system objectives and design standards.
- Flow down the subsystem requirements to component requirements.
- Define IVVs and the associated Development and Verification plan.
- Support the development, verification, and validation of the subsystem, especially test campaigns.
- Conduct analyses to determine the performance of the subsystem.
- Perform component-level design trades and assist with the component selection process.
- Maintain the PBS and associated performance parameters.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure the integration of the ECLSS at the spacecraft level.
- Support with the suppliers interaction as the technical responsible for the procurement, development, verification, and validation of components.
- Support RAMS activities.
- Define the ECLSS states and modes for operations, including triggers and conditions for switch.
- Perform analyses to capture the Fault Management and Monitoring of the ECLSS.
- Support the definition and integrated testing of software features for the ECLSS application.
- Support mission operations and define subsystem-related procedures and operational constraints.
- Support the creation of detailed engineering documentation, including test plans, reports, and specifications.
- Present and defend the ECLSS design during ESA and NASA reviews.
In the role of ECLSS Engineer ideally, you will have the following:
- Advanced degree (Master of Science or PhD) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience working on spacecraft or relevant systems.
- Proven ability to develop and manage technical requirements, ensuring they align with overall system objectives and mission goals.
- Experience in design processes, including concept development, trade studies, and optimization for manufacturability and reliability.
- Practical experience in the fabrication, assembly, and testing of hardware components is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with tools like GitHub and Python is an asset.
- Familiarity with 2D fluidic analysis tools, such as ecoSIM Pro, is a plus.
