Overview:
The ECMO Coordinator is a hybrid role that has an advanced clinical concentration with administrative responsibilities for the ECMO program. The ECMO coordinator is a Clinician who undergoes specialized training in various forms of Extracorporeal Support and has administrative duties. The job parallels Assistant Nurse Managers and incorporates leadership for the department. The ECMO coordinator will report directly to Market Director, HBMI GWSM. The position ensures the achievement of optimal evidenced-based patient care and departmental goals through efficient daily operations and compliance with established rules, regulations and guidelines. The ECMO Coordinator assists with providing staff support, education and coverage. The ECMO Coordinator is also responsible for quality control and improvement and is responsible for patient data and ELSO registry management.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program, respiratory therapy program, or cardiovascular perfusion program.
  • CCRN, preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of (2) two years of direct patient care experience in a neonatal, pediatric or adult ICU setting is required.
  • Three years Critical Care Nursing, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
  • Current RN, CRT/RRT, or CCP license in appropriate state, required.
  • ACLS, required.
  • BLS, required.
  • Advanced Critical Care ECMO, preferred.
