Job Description Position Overview: The proposed position is for an Ecology & Biodiversity Specialist who will be based out of our Gurgaon office. The role involves supporting ecology and biodiversity conservation activities, conducting ecological assessments, and ensuring compliance with national and international environmental standards and guidelines Job Description Understanding of National policies, guidelines and legislations related to ecology & biodiversity conservation. Understanding of IFC performance Standards especially with respect to Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Natural Resource Management Familiarity with International conventions, treaties related to ecology & biodiversity conservation. Basic knowledge of the application of taxonomy in resource inventory (flora and fauna) of the project area. Conducting ecological/wildlife surveys and preparation of status reports for rare, endangered and threatened species of animals and plants and also species protected under national laws. Experience of providing guidance and support for conservation of species and their habitats. Qualifications Postgraduate degree in Life Sciences such as Zoology, Botany, Forestry, Ecology & Biodiversity, or related fields. Additional Information Basic knowledge of taxonomy application in resource inventory (flora and fauna) within project areas. Experience in conducting ecological and wildlife surveys, habitat assessments, and biodiversity baseline studies. Preparation of status reports for rare, endangered, and threatened species, including species protected under national laws.
