About the role As Ecology Lead, you'll sit at the intersection of technical leadership and business development. You'll lead the ecology team day-to-day while actively growing Fyfe's pipeline in Queensland – attending industry events, nurturing client relationships, and identifying new opportunities across the renewables sector and broader development industries This is a rare opportunity to help grow Fyfe's ecology practice in Queensland, working across renewables and a range of other sectors. You'll be responsible for: Business development & growth Lead and grow Fyfe's ecology presence across Queensland, with a focus on the renewables sector Manage and create client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact Identify new opportunities and convert them into engagements Represent Fyfe at industry events, professional associations, and networking forums to grow our profile Technical & operational Provide trusted ecological advice and quality oversight across the team's project portfolio Lead delivery of complex or high-profile projects, ensuring outputs meet and exceed client expectations Oversee risk identification and management across projects, keeping stakeholders well informed Team leadership Lead, mentor, and grow a team of ecologists – supporting their development and career progression Contribute to team composition planning as the practice grows Drive continuous improvement in how we deliver projects About you 8 + years' experience in ecology or environmental consulting Strong client relationship management skills; you're comfortable in the room with clients and genuinely enjoy that side of the work Experience leading or mentoring a team of technical staff Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and stakeholder engagement Demonstrated project management and commercial acumen Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications advantageous Relevant professional memberships (e.g. EIANZ) well regarded Why Fyfe?
