Purpose The ECOM Database Engineer is responsible for the initial set-up, preparation, maintenance, (internal) auditing and close out of Project Completions Database (ECOM) during the execute phase.You adhere and participate to the implementation of the Project HSSE and Quality Plans.Responsibilities You maintain ECOM databases, ensuring optimal performance and scalability to support project and operational needs.You monitor database health, identify issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and data integrity.You develop and optimize database queries, scripts, and stored procedures for efficient data handling and reporting.You collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ECOM databases with other operational systems.You create and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including schemas, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.You identify opportunities for improvement in database systems and lead initiatives to enhance performance and reliability.Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.Experience At least 5+ years of experience in database engineering, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).Knowledge of ECOM systems and their integration in Oil & Gas operations.Functional Competencies Analytics and reportingIT Tools and applicationInspection, testing, commissioning and monitoringDigital savvyDocument Management CoordinationConstruction and commissioningTechnical Data Management  GENERAL INFORMATION   SBM Offshore N.V. is a listed holding company that is headquartered in Amsterdam.
