Description

Reporting to the Ecommerce Manager, the Ecommerce Assistant plays a crucial role in generating income for Naomi House & Jacksplace through the sale of a wide variety of donated items on online sales platforms. The Ecommerce Assistant is responsible for managing online listings, optimising product descriptions, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.
The Ecommerce Assistant will work closely with our Shop Managers to understand their stock requirements and ensure a steady flow of high-quality donations for online sales.
This role will involve regular communication and collaboration with shop teams to identify and select items suitable for online listing, as well as monitoring and analysing sales performance to maximise revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create listings ensuring an accurate and detailed description of the item being listed.
  • Maximise the price point for all items using the best online selling method across all channels.
  • Ensure that NH&JP does not violate any of the eBay and Depop selling regulations when listing an item.
  • Maintain the highest standard of photography to support each item listing and ensure that the description is clear, concise, and informative.
  • Ensure the usage of the correct long tail key words in the title to maximise the potential of Google and the selling channel algorithms.
  • Support team members in using product market research & price checking along with quality control checks.
  • Ensure the ecommerce department is always kept tidy and compliant to Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Shop Managers to understand stock needs and select items for online sales.

  • Ensure excellent customer service and resolve any issues related to online sales.
  • Assist with packing and posting all sold items

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven experience of working with online sales platforms
  • Knowledge of charity retail industry trends, customer behaviour and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategies and market research
  • Proficiency in ecommerce platforms and tools.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrable planning and organisational abilities, capable of prioritising and managing multiple tasks.
  • A good communicator, able to consult confidently, with proven ability to engage, influence and negotiate.
  • Strong understanding of customer behaviour and experience in improving customer journey.
  • Passion for charity retail and an interest in collectables and antiques.

Benefits
This is a fixed term contract until April 2026.
Working 6 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at Naomi House & Jacksplace, Winnall Warehouse.
Hourly rate of pay: £12.60
