We are currently seeking a meticulous and tenacious Claims and Collections Specialist to join our dedicated Accounting team at our Brooklyn, NY headquarters. The Claims and Collections Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial processes, particularly in managing 3rd party marketplace reconciliation and claims processes to recoup lost funds. We are looking for a determined individual who has proven experience and success in their relentless work ethic.

Responsibilities:

  • Claims Management: Persistently handle the end-to-end process of 3rd party marketplace claims, prioritizing opening cases and recouping funds.
  • Maintain detailed records of all claims, including correspondence and outcomes.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate across internal departments to resolve claim-related issues and expedite the recovery process.
  • Generate reports on claim status, recovery rates, and financial impact to management.
  • Analyze transaction data to detect patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for recovering funds.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the claims and reconciliation process.
  • Ensure all activities comply with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in collections, accounting, or a similar role, preferably in an ecommerce environment.
  • Strong and clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with claims processes and accounting software is a plus.
  • Tenacious, persistent, and assertive in following up on claims.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to follow-through on tasks and maintaining confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
