• This position is responsible for driving strategic leadership, planning, and the effective management of Council’s Economic Development function and strategies, ensuring alignment with Council’s vision, strategic priorities, and community needs. This includes:
• Provide strategic leadership for Council’s Economic Development objectives, focusing on long-term planning, regional positioning, and community outcomes, in alignment with the Community Strategic Plan, Regional Economic Development Strategy, and Council priorities.
• Lead the development of partnerships and networks with local businesses, industries, government bodies, and regional stakeholders to achieve sustainable economic growth and investment attraction.
• Develop, review, and implement Council’s Economic Development Strategy and associated action plans, ensuring alignment with evolving regional and economic needs.
• Analyse economic development data, market trends, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic decision-making, policy development, and community-focused programs.
• Identify and advance economic development opportunities through collaborative partnerships, co-design initiatives, and community education programs.
• Promote the integration of economic development objectives across Council’s broader strategic plans, policies, and initiatives.

• Identify, monitor, and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, to support Council’s economic development initiatives and community projects
