The opportunity

  • Request, review, and handle project data, market studies, and financial and economic plans
  • Conduct business planning, economic, contractual, and financial analysis
  • Interact with members across Arup for their input on Advisory projects and develop internal networks
  • Prepare analyses, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and coordinate/handle project inputs from Arup consultants
  • Review and/or develop financial models, economic cost-benefit analyses, feasibility analyses, and market studies
  • Prepare and deliver clear and concise written reports and presentations to summarize tasks undertaken and key outputs derived
  • Support the Advisory team in the development of proposals and other business development materials

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, urban planning, economics, finance, business administration, or similar fields required
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft 365 applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Curiosity about infrastructure, i.e., rail, aviation, highways, renewable energy, social infrastructure
  • Ability to learn concepts, complete tasks independently, and work collaboratively across the Arup teams
  • Experience translating sophisticated technical information for non-technical audiences, including excellent presentation and proven report writing skills
  • Practical hands-on experience with financial modeling, projections, and inputs/outputs, i.e., capital expenditure, operational expenditure, and revenue
  • Knowledge of different procurement models, i.e., Public-Private Partnerships, collaborative, progressive
  • Experience in business, finance, economics, project, and process management
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future
