Description Schedule: Mon-Thur 3:00PM - 11:00PM | Friday 3:00PM-7:00PM The Emergency Department Clerk is responsible for greeting patients as they present to the clerical area, triage area for quick registration or as the clerk enters the room to perform bedside registration. The clerk is responsible for obtaining accurate registration information, including insurance information and payment arrangements. The clerk is responsible for answering the telephone and directing all calls to the appropriate party, ensuring accurate order entry functions for all diagnostic testing, generating electronic copies of all patient records, performing all paperwork functions in the department, and admitting patients to the hospital. The clerk has full access to confidential patient health information and must act accordingly to ensure such information is made available only to authorized parties. Requirements High school graduate or equivalent. Medical Terminology preferred. Computer skills including knowledge of business software. Clerical experience preferred Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to multi-task Self-motivated Excellent Customer Service Skills Must possess full range of body motion to pass a basic FIT test to include bending, stooping, standing and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Responsibilities
