Emergency Department Patient Access Representative Position Overview We are seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our Emergency Department team. This role is critical in ensuring a smooth and professional patient registration experience during high-volume periods. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while accurately collecting and verifying patient information. Key Responsibilities Greet and check in patients arriving at the Emergency Department. Collect personal and demographic information, verify insurance coverage, and process payments. Enter patient data into IDX and Invision systems with a high level of accuracy. Ensure financial clearance and insurance verification prior to patient care. Maintain professionalism and composure in a busy, fast-paced environment. Provide general customer service and assist patients through the registration process. Top Skills & Qualifications Experience in a medical or admissions office (e.g., patient check-in, front desk healthcare operations). Strong customer service skills and ability to manage a crowded waiting room professionally. Insurance verification and financial clearance experience preferred. Familiarity with IDX and Invision systems preferred. HS Diploma or equivalent Details: Pay: $20 - $23/hr. (based on experience) Pay cycle – weekly | medical, dental & vision benefits offered Schedule (First Shift): 7:00am – 3:30pm Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays. Parking: offsite parking available for $60/month. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
