Information Technology Strategies, Inc. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a EDI/XML Integration Engineer to work for our company.

SUMMARY:

  • Client Agency is Defense Logistics Agency.
  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET / TOP SECRET Clearance. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
  • Serves as an expert for EDI/XML integrations within the Oracle EBS 12.x environment, providing technical direction, interpretation, and identifying alternatives for complex problems.
  • Designs and implements EDI architecture solutions, focusing on inbound and outbound integrations between third-party systems and Oracle EBS.
  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT) and common transaction sets (including 810, 834, 835, 837, 820, 270, 271, 276, 277, 843, 850, 856, 857) for data exchange.
  • Applies expertise in Oracle EBS integration methods including Open Interface tables, APIs, Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) tools, BPEL, and AQ.
  • Works with XML using relevant development tools (e.g., XML Oxygen, XML Spy) and define schemas using DTD/XSD.
  • Gathers business requirements, lead fit-gap analysis, and design ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ business processes related to EDI/XML integration flows.
  • Performs application configuration and testing of solutions and business flows within Oracle EBS, including functional design and testing of customizations (RICE/CEMLI elements).
  • Provides analysis, research, and support for complex EDI/XML related issues, often working without appreciable direction.
  • Applies extensive technical expertise in Oracle EBS development technologies (Forms, Reports, BI/XML Reports, Oracle Developer 2000, PL/SQL) to support integration needs.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex integration challenges requiring ingenuity and creativity.
  • Communicates effectively, both written and orally, potentially with executive-level project teams.
  • May function in a project leadership role, guiding the successful completion of integration initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET / TOP SECRET Clearance. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
  • Must have 10+ years of EDI/XML experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology) with specific experience in EDI/XML electronic data exchange.
  • Must have 3+ years of experience with Oracle EBS/ERP interface development.
  • Extensive experience integrating standard X12 transactions (including 810, 834, 835, 837, 820, 270, 271, 276, 277, 843, 850, 856, 857) into internal and external systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering business requirements, leading fit-gap analysis, ‘as-is’/’to-be’ process design, application configuration, and testing within the context of Oracle EBS customizations.
  • Experience designing EDI architecture, particularly focusing on inbound integrations to Oracle EBS.
  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle Apps Forms, RICE/CEMLI elements, BI/XML Reports, Oracle Developer 2000, and PL/SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT) and transaction sets.
  • Familiarity with EDI mapping tools and middleware platforms (e.g., Oracle B2B, Sterling Integrator).
  • Knowledge of web services, XML, DTD/XSD, and experience with XML development tools (e.g., XML Oxygen, XML Spy).
  • Experience in a particular area of Information Technology (e.g., Information Systems Architecture, Systems Integration, Software Development Methodologies) or a specific functional area (e.g., finance, logistics, procurement, transportation, operations research). Experience in a logistics function is particularly relevant.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
