JOB DESCRIPTION

The eDiscovery Analyst role is a member of TD Legal and reports to the Manager, eDiscovery. Duties include:

  • Supporting and advising counsel and other teams in connection with information hold processes and applications, including issuance and management of information holds throughout the hold lifecycle, generating reporting for counsel and Management, responding to custodian enquiries, providing application support and training to counsel and professional staff, and managing escalations
  • Collecting, preparing and coordinating reviews of large volumes of documents and data, to support litigation, investigative and other processes
  • Providing counsel and professional staff with advice, support and training in respect of e-discovery vendors, technologies and tools, including technical support relating to the management, secure transfer and hosting of large volumes of data
  • Liaising with technology, data governance, legal operations, data asset owner and custodian teams, as well as external counsel and e-discovery vendors, in connection with information hold and e-discovery processes
  • Supporting e-discovery team operations and accountabilities more broadly, including managing recurring team processes or reminders, preparing reporting, job aids and training materials, and assisting with team record-keeping
  • Supporting special projects and other TD Legal initiatives, including those relating to the department’s technologies and e-discovery or information hold processes
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2 years of experience supporting e-discovery processes and using related tools or applications, preferably gained as a member of a litigation team in private practice, at an e-discovery consulting firm, or at a large organization.
  • Familiarity with data governance and e-discovery best practices for large organizations
  • Working knowledge of major e-discovery applications, preferred
  • Embraces change and new technologies, including with a proven track record of quickly developing a high degree of proficiency with new technologies and tools
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge
  • Process- and detail-oriented, follows detailed instructions, and is committed to continual process improvement;
  • Thrives in a fast paced and ever-changing environment, and can balance competing priorities;
  • Excellent organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
  • University degree or college diploma in legal studies or similar field, an asset
