The role combines editorial development, project management, creative collaboration, visual research, and hands-on execution across internationally distributed illustrated books. We are looking for someone who is highly creative, visually driven, culturally curious, detail-oriented, and organised. Someone who enjoys both conceptual thinking and day-to-day editorial execution. Someone who cares deeply about books, visual culture, storytelling, and the details that elevate a project from good to exceptional. The role involves developing and editing books primarily in the fields of architecture, design, interiors, lifestyle, travel, food culture, visual culture, and contemporary creative living. Deine Aufgaben & Verantwortlichkeiten Your Responsibilities Manage 8-12 illustrated book projects from acquisition handover through to final publication Translate project concepts and schedules into clear editorial workflows and timelines Prepare and manage project calculations and budgets throughout the publishing process Coordinate authors, contributors, photographers, designers, production, and external partners throughout the publishing process Lead day-to-day editorial execution across all project phases Provide structural and developmental editorial feedback Research and acquire imagery for publication, including rights clarification and licensing coordination Coordinate image sourcing, permissions, and licensing processes Support the development of design briefings and collaborate closely with design and production teams throughout the publishing process Monitor schedules, deadlines, and contractual deliverables Ensure editorial consistency, quality, accuracy, and timely delivery across all project stages Write and edit editorial and sales materials, including back cover texts, catalogue copy, and presentations Collaborate across editorial, design, production, marketing, PR, sales, and rights to bring visually and culturally distinctive books to life Contribute to internal discussions around positioning, content development, and publishing strategy Deine Fähigkeiten & Erfahrungen What We’re Looking For You have several years of professional editorial experience, ideally in illustrated book, magazine, or cultural publishing You are genuinely interested in our core categories, have a strong instinct for relevant concepts, and ideally bring an existing network within lifestyle publishing, and visual industries.
