Video Editor (Premiere Pro) — Short-Form Storytelling
Pay: $25–$30 CAD/hour (DOE)

ABOUT US

We’re Kismet Design—a small, crafty studio making mid-century-inspired furniture and lighting… and the content that tells those stories. You’ll collaborate with Ivan (@kismet_design) and Konstantin (creative direction for Fortune 500 companies & 100k+ Content creators ) to create videos people actually finish.

WHAT YOU BRING (SKILLS & TRAITS)

• Premiere Pro: fast, fluent, organized.
• Strong grasp of visual storytelling/cinematography and shot variety.
• Meticulous and patient: you comb footage and pick with intent.
• Engagement intuition: you know why a beat lands (or doesn’t).
• Advanced color sense without overcooking it.
• Adobe Audition for VO cleanup and polish.
• Ability to focus for long stretches and follow a clear system.

HOW TO APPLY

• A portfolio with 3+ short-form edits you personally cut.
• A 60–120s breakdown (text or Loom) of one piece—pacing choices, story arc, color approach, audio fixes, and typography.
• Optional: gear list, AE/mograph samples, any looks you like to grade toward.
• Availability and your hourly rate within the range.

Paid Test (short & fair)
We’ll share an interview + b-roll set. You’ll deliver a 30–45s cut, organized project, and final export. We’re looking for story, pacing, taste, colour, and tidy project structure.

THE ROLE

You’ll edit short-form (Reels/TikTok/Shorts), plus cinematic storytelling and interview/VO pieces. If you care about rhythm, pacing, clean organization, and color that feels natural—not gimmicky—you’ll fit right in.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Build tight, engaging narratives from interviews + b-roll.
• Cut with great timing and rhythm; design shot sequences that escalate interest.
• Perform color correction & grading for a premium, true-to-life look.
• Clean up audio (dialogue edits, noise reduction, EQ/compression in Adobe Audition).
• Add tasteful graphics & typography (lower-thirds, captions, supers; smart font choices).
• Keep projects organized (folder structure, naming, proxies, versioning).
• Deliver platform-ready exports (ratios, captions, data rates).
