JOB SUMMARY

Conceptualizes, writes, edits, and implements integrated communication strategies and packages for various University constituencies, both academic and administrative. Provides editorial direction by coordinating the production of manuscripts, dissertations, thesis analysis, University bulletins, and brochures. This position will primarily be a remote position, but there may be a need for some in-office presence, though not frequently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND LEVEL OF FREQUENCY THAT MAY BE REQUIRED

Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.
Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking.
Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Liberal Education or a related field; two years professional experience in editing and directing publication projects, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); and demonstrated writing, human relations and effective communication skills in order to interpret and present sometimes opposing information in a convincing and non-confrontational manner are required. Master’s degree may be preferred in some areas.
