Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We Are Social is looking for a culture-hungry Editor who wants to make work that people will love. To do the job well, you’ll need a good sense of social media craft and a desire to get your hands dirty. We are seeking someone who lives in the space between pop culture and entertainment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • SOCIAL LITERACY Identifying trends and opportunities as they emerge in social that stay true to our brands. Design to specific social platforms.
  • CONTENT CREATION: From photography to videography, design, and platform native tools, you’ll create a wide range of content that suits the client, the moment and the idea. From quick social posts to lo-fi shoots, you have range and the ability to switch between styles while still experimenting and looking for unique opportunities to make work ownable and talked about.
  • COLLABORATION: Work collaboratively with a large team of creatives from ideation to execution – helping to ensure ideas are created and brought to life faithfully while taking direction & feedback from leads.
  • WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT: Manage multiple priorities and assignments. Execute with quick turnaround times for real time moments, capture trending moments, editing quickly and efficiently to deliver high quality work, on-time and with accuracy.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE

  • Online portfolio with relevant work examples.
  • Demonstrable understanding of YouTube, Instagram and TikTok features, best practices, creator tools (such as CapCut), culture, including popular trends, memes, and sports communities.
  • A strong point of view on what it takes to entertain audiences, drive views and build a dedicated following on social.
  • Strong sense of color, layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and storytelling.
  • You have a sense of branding and know how to work to brand guidelines while also pushing them.
  • You know when to ask for feedback and you can implement it well.
  • In-depth understanding of design and editing programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, and InDesign.
  • Understanding of best practices for platform-specific design features and elements.
  • Stays informed on current design & social trends while keeping an eye out on upcoming trends & technology.
  • An organized team player with an ability to work under tight deadlines and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to experiment, get your hands dirty, and push work to be better.
  • You have a natural enthusiasm and excitement for your work.
