EDITORIAL ASSISTANT – £29,000 – 12 MONTHS FTC – HYBRID

Responsibilities
  • Accurately and punctually compile publishing reports for individual titles.
  • Accurately maintain journal management records and databases ensuring all information relating to the department’s journals is up to date.
  • Promptly carry out journal management activities as required, to support journal development initiatives in line with SAGE’s strategy.
  • Promptly respond to queries from journal editorial teams, society publishing partners and authors to ensure we provide a high quality service. Liaise actively with colleagues across all necessary departments.
  • Support Editors/Publisher in the drafting and sending of journal contracts and addenda, and ensure correct circulation following signature (following internal procedures) to assist in maintaining accurate records.
  • Research new acquisition leads, maintain accurate database of acquisition leads, undertake background research for journal tenders/launches and support Editors/Publisher in the preparation of journal proposals to actively seek out new business opportunities in accordance with editorial growth strategies.
  • Assist the Editor/ Publisher with planning and running meetings to ensure travel plans are in place (when necessary), including coordinating agendas and keeping all parties informed of meeting details. Take accurate minutes and ensure follow-up on actions.
  • As required represent SAGE at necessary conferences, meetings and/or events to ensure the collation of information, the promotion of the journal portfolio and contribution to building SAGE brand.
