What You’ll Be Doing Set the Vision: Define and execute an ambitious video and audio strategy across our national and regional portfolio, including iconic titles such as the Mirror, Daily Express, Daily Star, and Manchester Evening News. Own Social Video Leadership: Drive platform-native storytelling across Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram — ensuring our journalism shows up where audiences live and adds value in every moment. Create Must-Watch Formats: Conceptualise, pilot, and scale original, high-impact video formats designed for YouTube and social platforms, building loyal communities and distinctive brand identities across the UK and Ireland. Grow Subscriptions: Partner with Product and Subscription teams to develop premium video and audio propositions that deepen loyalty, reduce churn, and strengthen value exchange with registered users. Unlock Commercial Value: Work closely with commercial and advertising teams to develop sellable video IP and branded content that attracts blue-chip advertisers without compromising editorial integrity. Lead at Scale: Manage a multi-million-pound budget and inspire a diverse, high-performing team of producers, editors, and creators — fostering a culture of innovation, speed, and exceptional editorial standards. Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for a bold, visionary leader with a proven track record of transforming video at scale in fast-moving media environments. You will likely bring: Senior Leadership Experience: A strong background at executive or senior leadership level within a major media organisation, broadcaster, or high-growth digital publisher. Proven Content Innovation: Clear evidence of launching and scaling successful video formats, channels, or franchises from concept to sustained audience growth. A Data-Driven Mindset: The ability to turn complex audience and performance data into sharp editorial decisions and rapid content pivots. Commercial Intelligence: A deep understanding of how video content intersects with programmatic advertising, direct sponsorship, branded content, and subscription models.
