The Eating Disorders Residential Treatment Centre (EDRTC) is a 12-bed health facility for people with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder over the age of 16 who can be safely medically monitored and managed in the Centre but require further nutritional, psychological and psychosocial support to achieve long term recovery. It will have a homelike, residential feel and will focus on the psychological recovery of participants by providing specialist, intensive nutritional, psychological treatment with 24/7 nursing support for a period up to three months.
EDRTC is seeking a dynamic and experienced mental health clinician to undertake the role of EDRTC intake clinician and service co-ordinator. Under the limited direction of Allied health team manager, the clinician provides expertise in referral management and mental health eating disorder assessment, including risk and physical assessment. Other key responsibilities will include system co-ordination, liaising with ED Hub, hospitals, GP clinics and other public community services or private clinicians, as well as an ability to support individual and group interventions for residents at EDRTC. These interventions may include facilitating group sessions, meal support therapy, and key worker or individual/family sessions. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide support and supervision to staff at Health Professional Level 1, Allied Health Assistants, and students.
The role will also require the team member to undertake professional development and supervision, participate in quality initiatives and contribute to the multidisciplinary team processes.
Additionally, the role is required to be available to work within all program areas of CAMHS, as service needs arise.
