Responsibilities

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

  • 3 x term contract, full-time position on offer for up to 24 months
  • Working a 38 hour week with the hours of work will be rostered between 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Access to a paid Study Leave Day each fortnight
  • This opportunity will provide you with experience to work across a number of Council’s education and care services.

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Trainee Salary Scale of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a hourly rate starting from $28.45, plus 12% superannuation
  • Cumberland City Council has successfully been approved for funding under the Commonwealth Government’s ‘Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Worker Retention Payment Grant. This grant will provide an additional retention allowance to increase their wages in line with the federal Children’s Services Award 2010 and applies until 30 November 2026.The payment of the Worker Retention Payment allowance is not a condition of employment with Council and is subject to the Worker Retention Payment allowance being fully funded by the Commonwealth Government. Should this retention allowance cease to paid by the Commonwealth Government, Council will also cease payment of the ECEC Worker Retention Payment Grant to staff.You can find more information about the Early Childhood Education and Care Worker Retention Payment here.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE FOR THIS ROLE:

  • The right to live and work in Australia
